What cold medicines work?

Has anyone found a infant/toddler cold medicine that they have found really effective?

I have tried a few with out really finding one that really gives a good amount of relief for the cold symptoms.

We haven't found anything terribly effective yet- and our doc did tell us about 6 months ago that there is nothing really that helps- they just have to fight it out. I do think, though, that if the medicine helps them sleep deeper or longer, that it can improve their body's ability to fight the cold.
