Favorites Favorites: As a member, you can click the heart icon to add any post or comment to your list of favorites. Using the My Favorites link on the main menu will show all your fav's to you. When viewing a post or comment you have already marked as a favorite, you'll see the heart icon in the notes for that post or comment, indication its one of your favorites.

Best Answer Best Answer: As a member, when you create a discussion and then return to view the comments other members have left for you, you can let the community know which comments helped you solve your problem or answer your question accurately. Just click the star icon on as many comments are appropriate and the community will be able to see that those comments did the trick.

Flag Flag: One of the best features of BabyFilter is the ability for any member to "filter" the content by removing inappropriate posts or comments. If a post or comment is unrelated to the site theme, derogatory, inflammatory, off topic, derails a discussion, or just plain stupid, just click the flag and tell us why you are flagging it. It will disappear completely and we trusty administrators will review it- maybe it will get reinstated, maybe deleted. We will use our best judgement and ask that you use yours.

Discussions

Q: Do I need a BabyFilter account to create a new discussion and get answers?

A: Yes, you must create an account. Accounts are free and signup just takes a minute.

Q: It seems like there are a lot of fields to fill out on the new discussion form.

A: It may look that way, but the form is setup that way to help make BabyFilter more efficient for you to use and find information with. Just ask your question in the Question/Topic field, and add more info that will help others help you into the optional extended area if its appropriate for your discussion. Add a few tags separated by commas (see tags explanation below), pick a category, and give your discussion a brief title. We recommend that you add as much info as necessary to get the best answers from BabyFilter members, but try not to get terribly wordy- keep it to the point.

Q: What are tags, and how do I use them?

A: Tags are very popular these days on many social sites like Flickr and Cork'd. They make a lot of sense. Tags are keywords from your discussion topic that help us categorize it a bit more finely than just using the general categories on the left of the page. You can enter as many of few tags as you feel are appropriate for your discussion. Once your discussion is live, other members can find it by searching for tags, or, if they click a tag on a post, they will be shown a list of all posts that have that tag. Once our site grows more, you will see tags become more prominent as we create sidebars that display the most popular tags, giving members a way to find out what people are really talking about.
